We are delighted to spotlight Muhammed Jakhura, a remarkable Grade 8 learner at Al Falaah College, whose passion for Quranic studies has shone brightly throughout his journey with us at the Quranic Academy.

Muhammed's profound interest in delving into the depths of the Quran led him to approach our Head of Islamic Studies, Ml Abdullah Badat, expressing his eagerness to embark on a journey of learning Uloom al Quran. With dedication and commitment, Muhammed engaged in the course on "Ilm al-Tafseer min al-Nuqayyah," delving into the profound works of the esteemed scholar, Al-Suyuti (RA).

This course, meticulously designed to unravel the intricacies of Uloom al Quran through the lens of Al-Suyuti's (RA) scholarly insights, aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the Quranic text. Throughout the journey, Muhammed exhibited discipline, enthusiasm, and a thirst for knowledge, attending every class with unwavering commitment.

Today, on the 10th of May, we celebrate Muhammed's accomplishment as he completes the final chapter of the book. His dedication and perseverance serve as an inspiration to us all, reminding us of the profound importance of seeking knowledge and understanding the divine message of the Quran.

As Muhammed embarks on his continued journey to deepen his understanding of the Quran, we extend our heartfelt wishes for success and fulfillment. May his endeavors be blessed with divine guidance, and may he continue to illuminate his path with the timeless wisdom encapsulated within the Quranic verses.

We commend Muhammed for his outstanding commitment to Quranic studies and wish him continued success in his pursuit of knowledge. May his journey serve as a beacon of inspiration for all learners at Al Falaah College's Quranic Academy, reminding us of the transformative power of education and the endless treasures awaiting those who seek wisdom with sincerity and dedication.

Congratulations, Muhammed, on this significant milestone, and may your journey ahead be filled with enlightenment, growth, and divine blessings.

Over the past weeks, Verulam has been facing severe water shortages, leaving many families in distress. Hearing of their plight, our compassionate community sprang into action. Led by the initiative of our parents and learners, we launched a fundraising campaign to provide relief to those affected.

Through the unwavering support and contributions of our generous donors, including parents and learners of Al-Falaah College, we were able to collect funds to purchase an astounding 700 x 5-litre bottles of water. This remarkable feat would not have been possible without the collective effort and dedication of each member of our community.

On behalf of Al-Falaah College, we extend our deepest gratitude to all who contributed to this noble cause. Your selflessness and compassion have made a significant impact on the lives of those experiencing hardship in Verulam. Your generosity not only quenched thirst but also brought hope and comfort to those in need.

The distribution of the water bottles in Verulam stands as a testament to the power of unity and empathy. It is a reminder that even in the face of challenges, our community remains steadfast in its commitment to serving others and making a positive difference in the world.

As we reflect on this heartening display of kindness and solidarity, let us continue to embody the values of compassion and service in all that we do. Together, we can create a brighter, more resilient future for all.
Once again, JAZAKALLAH to our donors for your generosity and to our entire Al-Falaah College community for your unwavering support.

On Tuesday, the 27th of February, the High School Islamiyah team, under the guidance of Ml Badat, embarked on an enlightening Tarbiyah Programme titled "Ramadhan Globally". This program was designed to give our learners a comprehensive understanding of how Muslims worldwide observe and experience Ramadhan.

The event was a collaborative effort, with all grades from 7 to 12 participating wholeheartedly. Each grade was assigned a specific country to research, delve into its unique Ramadhan traditions, and present their findings. What made this presentation even more engaging was the requirement for the introduction to be delivered in the language of the assigned country, adding an authentic touch to the experience.

Countries spanning the globe, including Japan, China, Brazil, Turkey, Finland, Russia, Palestine, and many others, were explored and presented. From the varying durations of fasting to the diverse cuisines enjoyed by Sehri and Iftaar, from the customs surrounding Taraweeh prayers to the social challenges Muslim communities face, every aspect was meticulously researched and shared.

Following the insightful presentations, a captivating experiential setup awaited both teachers and learners. Traditional foods from the showcased countries were available for tasting, offering a sensory journey through the diverse culinary landscapes of Ramadhan. Additionally, various items representing the cultural heritage of each country adorned the display, allowing attendees to immerse themselves further in the rich tapestry of global Ramadan traditions.

The Tarbiyah Programme was met with resounding success, garnering praise from all who attended. It not only deepened our understanding of Ramadan but also fostered a sense of appreciation for the cultural diversity within the Muslim community. As we reflect on the event, we pray that Allah accepts the efforts of all involved and grants us the wisdom to continue embracing and celebrating our differences.

In conclusion, "Ramadhan Globally" was not just an event; it was a journey of cultural discovery, unity, and appreciation. We look forward to more enriching experiences that promote understanding and harmony within our school community.

Mathletics and Reading Eggs are engaging online platforms that enhance your child’s Math and Literacy skills through interactive activities and games.

Mathletics fosters confidence, improves problem-solving abilities, and promotes a love for Math learning.

We have a one-hour lesson per week dedicated to Mathletics, where learners interact with topics from the CAPS syllabus in a fun way.

Reading Eggs helps develop and improve the learners' spelling skills and fluency thus inculcating a love for reading. Reading Eggs is also a one-hour lesson per week.

Our Grade 00-4 learners have been given their reading Eggs logins and will commence with Reading Eggs Lesson next week.

We appeal to you to allow your child to download and log on to the app at home.

This will allow him/her to gain the required points for a certificate.

On behalf of the board and management we welcome back our learners, staff and parents to the 2nd academic term of 2024. May ALLAH bless our families and teachers to nurture, teach and guide our children. Alhamdulillah, we had a beautiful Ramadan – May ALLAH accept our ibadah, duas and good deeds including our Zakaah and Sadaqa. It was really gratifying to see the large number of learners in ‘itekaaf” and others spending time in the Musjid in Qiyam and dua. May ALLAH guide our children. The challenge for us is to sustain this spiritual energy by maintaining our link to the Musjid, Quran and Salaah.

We place on record our heartfelt appreciation to the staff who undertook the overnight excursions for the Gr 5/6 and Grade 12 classes. It is not only the sacrifice of leaving their families but also the detail of the preparation that goes into the logistics of such a trip. We also note that the Grade 12 excursion was held over the weekend. May ALLAH bless our dedicated and committed team for their sacrifice and more importantly for adding to the memories of our children.
