Echoes of the Qur’an 2026

A Celebration of the Qur’an, Qira’ah and Connection

Alhamdulillah, the Echoes of the Qur’an programme held over the weekend of 28–29 August 2026 was a resounding success and a truly memorable celebration of the Words of Allah (SWT). Al-Falaah College was honoured to host three distinguished Qurra — Qari Ismail Londt, Qari Saleem Gaibie and Qari Husain Kazi — whose beautiful recitations and inspiring messages touched the hearts of all who attended.

The programme commenced with special Jumu’ah programmes, followed by a beautifully presented public programme after Maghrib at Al-Falaah College. The response from the community was overwhelming, with the venue filled with parents, learners, educators and members of the public who gathered to listen to the Qur’an and benefit from the presence of these esteemed guests.

The following morning, a special workshop for educators provided an opportunity for teachers to engage with the Qur’an at a deeper level, gaining valuable insights and inspiration that can be carried into the classroom and shared with our learners. The weekend concluded with another well-attended public programme at Musjid Rahman in Durban North on Saturday evening.

What made the weekend particularly special was the diversity of those who attended and the tremendous enthusiasm shown by the community. From young learners to senior members of the community, there was a shared appreciation for the Qur’an and the beautiful art of Qira’ah. The Echoes of the Qur’an weekend was a powerful reminder that the Qur’an continues to bring hearts together, inspire communities and create a connection that transcends age and background.

We place on record our heartfelt appreciation to Qari Ismail Londt, Qari Saleem Gaibie and Qari Husain Kazi for honouring us with their presence, sharing their beautiful recitations and giving generously of their time and knowledge. We also sincerely thank all those who assisted in organising and facilitating the various programmes, as well as the parents, learners, educators and members of the community whose attendance and support contributed to the success of the weekend.

May Allah (SWT) reward our esteemed Qurra abundantly, accept their efforts, preserve them and grant them many more years of service to the Qur’an. May the echoes of the Qur’an that filled our school and community over this special weekend continue to resonate in our hearts and homes long after the programmes have ended. Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘Aalameen.
