GAIS Conference 2026

Alhamdulillah, Al Falaah College was well represented by Mr Ahmed, Mr Muhammad and Sh Amod at the current Global Association of Islamic Schools (GAIS) conference in Jakarta, Indonesia.

We are rather fortunate to have Mr Ahmed serve as the President of GAIS since its inception. Through his meticulous leadership and vision, GAIS has grown into a representative body across more than 35 countries.

May ALLAH grant our team a safe journey and make it possible for them and us to implement the many great practices shared by our global Islamic communities.

World Teachers Day, Every Day

On World Teachers Day we asked a simple question: what do teachers really want? The answer isn’t gifts or grand gestures. It’s small, thoughtful things that parents can do all year round.

Be kind. Teachers are humans who make mistakes, just like everyone else.

Celebrate them. You love hearing good news about your child, and so do teachers. A short, positive email can make their whole week.

Respect them. Don’t join conversations that speak badly of teachers. Better still, politely put a stop to them.

Small Actions – Big Impact: Learning Through Recycling

This term, Al Falaah College, together with the Sweet Hearts Foundation, embarked on a meaningful recycling campaign to collect bottle caps, bread tags and soda tabs.

What may seem like small items can make a big impact. Through this initiative, our learners and school community have been learning that simple everyday actions, such as recycling, can contribute towards making a meaningful difference in someone’s life.

The collected recyclable materials are being used to raise funds towards sponsoring a wheelchair for someone in need. This project has provided our learners with an opportunity to learn about environmental responsibility while also developing compassion, generosity and a sense of community.

All Aboard Al-Falaah Airlines: A Heritage Day Flight to Remember!

For our final Primary School assembly this Heritage month, Al-Falaah Airlines took our learners on a fun-filled journey through the sights, sounds, cultures and traditions of South Africa!

Instead of simply standing in front of our learners and telling them about Heritage Day, our teachers were put in the hot seat! Each teacher received a boarding pass featuring a South African sports team/national symbol and became a “First Class Passenger” in our South African Alphabet Challenge. When their team was called, they raced to the front, raised their South African flag and battled it out to give an answer for the letter on the screen.
